Nine Fife businesses reach Wellbeing Awards finals

Nine Fife businesses and the founder of an eating disorder charity are in the running for a national award after reaching the finals of Scotland’s first ever wellbeing awards for the natural health sector.

They have fended off stiff competition from nearly 200 other entrants and nominees from across Scotland to make it through to the final round of the Holistic Scotland Magazine Wellbeing Awards 2020 – designed to celebrate excellence in natural and holistic health and wellbeing.

The Fife finalists are Health Food & More in Kirkcaldy; The Ecology Centre in Kinghorn; Amanda’s Podiatry in Burntisland; Inspirational Therapies and The Little Fox Soapery in Glenrothes; Simply Scentered Holistic Therapies in Leslie; Enlighten, Cupar; Flora Fusion in Leven, and Happy Earth Place in Dunfermline.

Anne Tremble of Glenrothes-based eating disorder charity The Linda Tremble Foundation has also been shortlisted after setting up the cause in memory of her daughter, Linda Tremble, who sadly lost her battle with anorexia nervosa in 2011.

She has been nominated for a special Inspiration Award sponsored by Apex Hotels.

The Kingdom’s contenders will find out who the overall winners are at the official awards ceremony to be held at the Apex Grassmarket Hotel in Edinburgh on Sunday, 12 April, 2020 – hosted by Virgin and Go Radio presenter Gina McKie.

Twelve finalists and 60 runners up will be honoured across 12 different categories at the awards evening sponsored by A.Vogel, Water for Health and Mind and Mission.

The ceremony will be followed by live music from Glasgow band Ernest, whose repertoire includes Fleetwood Mac, the Rolling Stones, George Ezra and many more, and will include a special raffle and silent auction in aid of Maggie’s Centres.

Keren Brynes Maclean (pictured) of Kirkcaldy’s Health Food & More will go head to head with Flora Fusion and Happy Earth Place, as well as Napier’s in Bathgate, for the coveted title of Independent Health Retailer of the Year.

She said: “We’d just like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who nominated us. We received nominations in four categories and are chuffed to bits that our customers love what we do.

“We’d also like to wish everyone else who has been shortlisted the best of luck. We hope to see you at the awards ceremony!”

Each of the 12 winners will receive a unique, glass award and 12 months’ free advertising and marketing support with Holistic Scotland Magazine.
